TERMS & CONDITIONS
DesignerStone Ltd is a concrete products manufacturer who specializes in
production of high quality bespoke concrete items such as concrete kitchen
worktops, garden worktops, dining tables, bar tops, sinks, fire pits, hearths, shower
trays, fireplaces and more.
Designerstone Ltd is engaged in the production of 100% Real Concrete which can
be used for life. We have been creating our concrete products with passion for over
10 years. Over the years of working and gaining experience, we have created 100%
Real Concrete of the highest quality.
About 100% Real Concrete
100% real concrete is a material that you can use for life, it is very long lasting,
and you can re-polish and re-seal as many times as you want which makes your
product look brand new again. With every re-polishing the aggregates and small

stones in the concrete become more visible, after a few years and numerous re-
polishing’s you can have a whole new design. Real concrete consists of special

aggregates, sand, and highest strength cement along with steel reinforcement.
Concrete is becoming very popular because of the modern and rustic look.
Main advantage of concrete is also the way it is made, shapeless concrete mix can
be cast into the mould and create almost any shape. Each of the projects is unique,
based on client’s specific requirements and so has a unique finish and appearance.
During the production process we try to ensure a uniform appearance and trim for
the entire project.
We deliver high quality surfaces ready for work.
Concrete is naturally porous however sealing the surface reduces the risk of liquids
penetrating into the material, also patina can develop over time with use. Concrete
as a material is pretty similar to natural stone or wood, however there is a lot of
things to remember that will keep your concrete product looking beautiful for a long
time. Ground concrete surfaces are less likely to mark and are more effective at
hiding marks than those surfaces that are just polished. Following our Aftercare
Instructions will ensure the quality and appearance for many years.
About concrete material
The product that you are looking at is hand-crafted. It is composed of natural
materials (cement, sand, water, aggregate and steel) and is hand made. The pores,
air bubbles, microcracks. slight bends, flecking, pitting, dappling, air bubbles,
discolouration and variations in colour and texture are inherent characteristics of
the material used and evidence of handicraft, which give this concrete products a
unique appearance and charm. You cannot achieve a perfectly controlled result as
you can with plastic. For these reasons, this article cannot be returned or
exchanged.
For example, the shades of colour can vary due to the inherent nature of the
materials used, factors such as the weather and humidity on the day the concrete
product is being casted can affect the colour of the concrete.
Vertical casting
The sides of concrete products may vary from the top surface of the products.
Vertical casting makes natural and irreplaceable patterns, it can also contain
discolouration.

The colour variations on the sides can differ depending on the colour of the product.
Darker colours can have grey discolouration in lighter shades whereas lighter
colours can have discolouration which is the colour of the aggregates added to the
mix such as sand.
This is a natural process which gives concrete its special character and makes the
product unique and the only one in the world with its’ pattern.
Photos of our work with clients
Designerstone ltd reserves the right to take photos after the installation/delivery is
complete, in order to archive projects and the right to place them in the website
gallery, in social media, advertising materials and when creating sales listings.
We offer 3 lines of concrete – classic, stained and rustic.
– Classic
Classic and elegant high quality polished concrete, comes in full range of colours
and polishing.
– Stained
Stained concrete is a modern combination of two concrete colours to create unique
patterns on the surface. We are unable to control the mixing process. It is a natural
process that gives concrete a unique pattern, and the stained concrete product
becomes the only one with such a pattern in the world.
– Rustic
Rustic concrete, stylish and industrial look is one of the most desired finish on the
market.
Cleaning
The surface of your product has been sealed to protect it from liquids and particles
of dirt. DesignerStone Ltd recommends to clean surfaces carefully with soft
equipment (such as sponge or towel) without any sharp elements. Avoid spilling
any acidic substances or using any strong chemical cleaning products on the
surface. If you accidentally spill such substance, wipe it out immediately with a
damp cloth (allowing it to dry). Our products should be cleaned with warm soapy
water using a bleach free or special cleaning products. Scrubbing with abrasive
powders or pads is not recommended as this may damage the surface and sealer
coating. You should also avoid any corrosive, solvent materials and cleaners.
Staining
Our products are treated with sealer to help prevent staining and for hygiene
purposes. During the first few weeks DesignerStone Ltd recommend you to keep
tops as clean and dry as possible, you can use them normally. You need to
remember to wipe concrete down after every use and do not leave anything wet on
the surface or any liquids till dry. It will damage the sealer and might leave a stain.
DesignerStone Ltd also recommend you to avoid leaving acidic substances such a
vinegar and lemon juice etc. in contact with the concrete. Lighter colours are
naturally more susceptible to staining comparing to strong colours and should be
treated with extra care for couple of weeks while they cure. Please note that any
marks and discolouration caused by the process of production may dry and
disappear after a few extra weeks after the installation.
Acids
Particular care should be taken when using acidic foods such as lemon, fruit juice
etc. The citric acid in these types of food can leave a mark.

Cutting / Chopping
Cutting and chopping or any other abrasive action should be done on a chopping
board and not directly on the surface or product because it may damage the
surface.
Chipping
Edges or corners of the product can be chipped if knocked by heavy items. Care
should be taken when using heavy pots and pans. Surface can be also damaged by
scratching with any sharp items, which is why DesignerStone Ltd recommends to
clean surfaces carefully with soft equipment (such as sponge or towel) without any
sharp elements.
Hot Pots
Our surface may be also damaged or discoloured by the heat from hot utensils.
DesignerStone Ltd recommend you to use a board or a trivet.
Water
Our surfaces are 100% resistant to pure water. Water contains minerals that cause
white residue on the surface, however if the water will pour out and will be erased
on time there is no possibility that the spots were formed. We recommend to dry
water with a towel to prevent watermarks.
Outdoor/Indoor suitability
Suitable for exterior use under covered areas, away from direct rainfall and sun.
Concrete products can be used in an outdoor environment up to a maximum heat of
50°C – 125 degrees Fahrenheit.
Outdoor use of our concrete products
We advise you to regularly check and clean your concrete products when in use
AND when not in use during the off season, even when covered up for a long period
of time, to ensure the best care of the product and to keep it looking fresh and
clean.
Covering concrete products
During the off season please cover your CastConcreteUK Concrete furniture piece(s)
with a protective cover 100 % polyester coated with water-repellent: a waterproof,
breathable, UV-resistant and place them in a dry location.
Concrete should not be left under the cover for an excessive period of time as it
may get damaged by condensation forming under the cover. Condensation forms
due to temperature changes which is sometimes mistaken for leakage. We do
recommend airing covers off every so often and cleaning the concrete products.
Do not leave liquids or common outdoor dirt to dry on the concrete.
Concrete products cover information
1. Before you fit your new cover, please check that no damage has occurred in
transit which could result in leakage.
2. You must always try to arrange the cover so that water runs off and does not
collect pools, particularly over sewn seams.
3. Fit the cover and secure it on your furniture so that it does not chafe on sharp
points or edges.
4. These covers are designed to help protect your furniture from rain, dirt, and UV
rays.

5. Concrete should not be left under the cover for an excessive period of time as it
may get damaged by condensation forming under the cover. Condensation forms
due to temperature changes which is sometimes mistaken for leakage. This
breathable fabric helps release condensation trapped underneath the covers
however we do recommend airing covers off every so often and cleaning the
concrete fire pit table.
• Although these covers are designed to help protect your furniture, we cannot
guarantee this against extreme weather conditions.
• We recommend that you check your cover on a regular basis to make sure no
damage has occurred in severe weather conditions.
Concrete Fire Pits and others concrete products
– Do not step on or sit on the fire pit (or on any other concrete products) under any
circumstances.
– Do not apply heavy pressure while installing burner and control panel. Failure to
do so may result in cracks and hairlines on the concrete surface or even permanent
damage to the product.
-Do not place heavy objects on the top of the fire pit as this can cause microcracks
or even cracks

Friday between 9am – 3pm. As we deliver our products personally, we schedule

multi-deliveries based on your region, therefore we are unable to schedule
individual deliveries for clients as it is scheduled based on your area.
The client must reserve a place for the parking of a large van close to the delivery
address because many of the concrete items we produce are very heavy and cannot
be carried over long distances. DesignerStone Ltd will strive to meet delivery dates
given, please note these dates are not given as a guarantee or part of the contract
agreed. DesignerStone LTD will write to the Client about the supply and installation
4-5 days earlier. The customer is obliged to adjust to for the proposed date.
If the client has only paid for the delivery
DesignerStone Ltd will send only a driver and the client will need to supply an
appropriate amount of men in order to unload goods safely.
Delivery of product/s to a location or site requires appropriate and safe access to
carry product/s from vehicle to place of installation.
Please note that Designerstone LTD reserves the right to change the delivery date
or time due to any kinds of accidents e.g. van failure or production faulty. Our
consultant will inform you about situation as soon as it is possible. We will arrange
new delivery date and time for first available date. We cannot offer you any refunds
when your date or time has been changed due to any unexpected issue.
The day of delivery
Our delivery team can help with carrying your product to your desired place (this
must be on ground floor). You have to provide people to help with unloading (we
will tell you how many you need) and a safe access.
It is clients/contractors responsibility to provide sufficient labour or lifting concrete
worktops to unload products from the van. For
all worktops bigger than 2000mm x 600mm we need minimum 2 people to help.
Cancellation of delivery
Please ensure once you have confirmed your delivery date, if any changes to this
occur, you must inform us on this at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled delivery
so that we can re-arrange your slot. Our team delivers your products personally,
therefore if our client does not inform us to cancel the delivery and our team makes
the delivery and nobody is on site to receive the product, delivery will have to be
re-scheduled and paid for (the cost of a re-delivery is minimum £100.00+Vat or if
was a higher given delivery cost in the customer’s quote) along with an unloading
and loading again cost of £100.00+Vat
A new delivery will be re-scheduled no sooner than 2 weeks (unless we have a date
sooner) as we are extremely booked up with deliveries.
Concrete kitchen/garden worktops and bar top installation
Delivery of product/s to a location or site requires appropriate and safe access to
transfer product/s from vehicle to place of installation. When fitting wastes, allow
silicon to seal and the retaining nut must be bought up to the underside of the
basin. This nut must not be over tightened as this may damage the product. A
tolerance of ± 5mm is possible on all measurements taken due to the nature of
concrete. Post installation the products should be left alone for 48 hours to allow
the glue used to bond the worktops to the cabinets to set. In the case where the
client has paid for installation;
• DesignerStone Ltd will supply maximum of 2 people to carry the products on
the day of installation (unless agreed otherwise beforehand).
• Client needs to provide enough people to lift and carry them safely.

• DesignerStone Ltd reserves the right to refuse delivery to a location or site if
access is deemed unsafe.
• Installation does not include electrical, gas, plumbing or jointing works.
• Do not screw tap and waste to tightly as it may cause tensions inside the
concrete and result in hairlines appearing on the surface.
• We always keep tolerance of 2-5mm from each side of the worktop.
• Concrete is like a natural stone so it is normal that some natural processes may
occur, which can cause small changes in shape of the worktop each side and slight
bending up to 10mm (for pieces up to 1000mm long 3mm bend each side is
acceptable, 6mm for pieces up to 2000mm long and 10mm for pieces up to
3000mm or longer). That is a part of the appeal of concrete and not a flaw, so it is
not covered by our warranty.
For the installation we need you to:
• have any worktops taken off, all cabinets need to be clean and ready, placed in
position and in level, stable and mounted permanently for the installation, you also
need to have any sinks, taps, hobs taken off.
• it would be appreciated if plumber would be already there to install sink,
• before we start any installation there has to be a client with us or somebody
who is also entitled to make any unpredictable decisions
• please make sure that there is a car park place for our workers to park a van
• we need help with unloading the van can you please make sure that there are
some people already waiting.
After the installation a Delivery and Acceptance Protocol must be signed by a buyer
or any person authorized by the buyer – please note that such person is also
responsible for giving the paperwork directly to the buyer.
If by any reason there is no person to sign the Delivery and Acceptance Protocol it
will be presumed that the protocol is accepted by the buyer.
All complaints and issues regarding the installation process must be reported on
side directly to our operatives. No such complaint will be taken into consideration
after they leave the side.
DesignerstoneLTD reserves the right to take photos after the installation/delivery is
completed, in order to archive projects and the right to place them in the gallery on
the website, in social media, advertising materials and when creating sales listings.
Templating
If the client orders a template then must ensure that all base units in the kitchen
are in position and in level, so the worktops can be installed correctly and in their
final place, as the templates will be made to reflect the positioning on the day.
DesignerStone Ltd Templator will take photos of the complete layout with the actual
templates as evidence of this.
Cut out prepared for under-mounted sink is always 5-10mm smaller than the
needed cut out, due to irregular edges of under-mounted sinks.
All sinks with basic cut out are square (without rounded corners), however on a
request of a client and with a small additional cost we can make radiuses on the
corners.

It is essential that all changes must be always confirmed before the production
process begins. If not, then the client will need to pay all costs caused by any
additional work.
Client is responsible for all the things written below, so we can make our template
properly: Cabinets need to be ready in position and in level. You also need to know
any measurements of any tap holes, hobs, sinks etc. Any current worktops should
be taken off. Please also make sure that you will confirm already made template by
signing one of our documents, which is necessary for us to start our work. If any of
these restrictions will not be prepared when our employees will arrive then we have
a right to decline the template and client will have to pay for another template
appointment on a different date.
Production
Making the polished concrete items takes at least 2-4 weeks depending on the
size/complexity of the project, it also depends on how busy the production schedule
is at the time of placing the order. A start date and estimated production time for
orders will be confirmed once deposit has been received. Production times are given
as an estimate only due to the bespoke nature of our products. DesignerStone Ltd
will not accept any liability for the delays caused by the manufacture of products
ordered, including penalties and costs. Products in some instances may be delivered
before completely dry so the colour can be darker. Pieces will change to their
natural colour in time and it can take few weeks. Please note that care must be
taken as the product can be more susceptible to staining during drying time.
Samples
Samples are available free of charge. Samples are just an example of mix, design,
colours and texture and are provided as guidance only, differences in tone will occur
in the final product. It usually takes about 3 to 7 days to deliver the samples,
depending on whether they are in stock. We can also make any special samples on
client’s request however such samples cost extra.
Please note that sheen and polishing are always unique for each sample and
depend on individual casting and mix. Samples are also not sealed the same way as
the final product.
Enclosed samples showing shades of colours only. Differences in tones, texture and
amount of aggregates on final product may vary due to nature of concrete
materials. The colour variations in vertical casting information you will find on our
website in our T&C. Colour of final product may be darker then previously supplied
samples as concrete drying process can take up to few weeks.
Storage Rates
If payment for products is not received within time scales stated within
DesignerStone’s terms and conditions, storage rates of £30 per day will be added to
the cost of product/manufacture. Products will be stored for a period of 30 days
from the production completion date. After that period of time DesignerStone Ltd
reserve the right to dispose of product(s) as deemed appropriate.
Tiles and Panels
All tiles are made on request of the client. Tiles 600mm x 600mm and under are
about 15mm thick (please note that we need to keep +/- 3mm tolerance), all above
that size are 30mm thick. Panels are about 10mm thick (also with +/- 3mm
tolerance).

For all our products we need to reserve the rights of the tolerance which is +/-
3mm.
Surface Texture
The manufacture of polished concrete products involves a complex casting process
when liquid concrete becomes a solid form. During this process DesignerStone Ltd
aim to control and monitor all of the stages, but due to the nature of the procedure
and concrete as a material, variable outcomes will occur in colour and surface
texture.
These idiosyncrasies are an integral part of the character of concrete and are
considered to be part of the appeal and not flaws. Typical characteristics of concrete
products may include: bug or blow holes, non-structural hairlines crack and patina.
Small knock outs may occur along the edges of some products, although this is a
typical characteristic of concrete. Please note that production process can cause
slight discolouration because the reinforcements that are placed inside the concrete
make the material thicker. Such discolouration should disappear after few weeks
from the installation. In multiple casts (i.e. worktop sections) colour variation may
occur, surface details will differ as will the character of each component.
Vertical Casting –The sides of concrete products may vary from the top surface of
the products. Vertical casting makes natural and irreplicable patterns, it can also
contain discolouration.
ABOUT GRINDING TABLE TOPS OR WORKTOPS
– Horizontal is grinding only (external vertical sides are not in grinding finish)
ABOUT GRINDING SINKS
– Horizontal + outside vertical sides are grinding (bowl can’t be in grinding finish)
Due to the nature of concrete, movement, shrinkage and slight bending may occur
during the casting process altering the shape the product. If fitting is part of the
order placed, DesignerStone Ltd will endeavour to equalize any shape differences.
Product edges may vary in degree and in some causes the aggregates may be
visible, this is part of variable nature.
Slight bending may occur in all concrete products and it does not affect the
concrete durability or structure. For pieces up to 1000mm long 3mm bend each side
is acceptable, 6mm for pieces up to 2000mm long and 10mm for pieces up to
3000mm or longer.
Cut Outs
Specific details and cut out sizes must be provided by the client/contractor in order
for production to run within given lead times. The client will then be responsible for
the dimensions of these cut outs.
– All the cut outs have to start minimum 60mm from the front and back and
100mm from the sides of the concrete worktops/slabs (if it is a standard worktop)
– All the cut outs have to start minimum 80mm from the front and back and
100mm from the sides (if it is a concrete islands)

Please note that hairlines may occur around the cut outs. They have no influence on
the concrete’s quality or durability and are not in the structure of the material, they
are just a visual feature of concrete surface.
Remake
Products will be replaced in the unusual event of being damaged in transit or has
been made incorrectly. The lead time of the replacement will require no less than
the manufacturing time given for the original order. DesignerStone Ltd will strive to
meet delivery dates given, please note these dates are not given as a guarantee or
part of the contract agreed. DesignerStone LTD will notify the Client about the
supply and installation 3-5 days earlier (including weekends). The customer is
obliged to fit up for the proposed date.
DesignerStone LTD can make a product again but DesignerStone will not pay for all
costs incurred by the replacement of the product, such as: people needed to
unload, install and deinstallation of the sink, hob etc. and other kitchen equipment.
The rules are exactly the same as requested on first delivery and installation. Client
is responsible for providing the proper access to the worktop and cabinets. If
something has been installed (i.e. tiles etc.) Client is responsible for removing it for
the installation of the product provided by DesignerStone LTD.
The client must also reserve a place for the parking of a large van close to the
delivery address because most of the items we produce (especially worktops) are
heavy and cannot be carried over long distances.
DesignerStone LTD writing to the Client about the supply and installation notify 3-5
days earlier (including weekends). The customer is obliged to fit up for the
proposed date. In the case where the client has only paid for delivery; –
DesignerStone Ltd will only send out a driver and the client will need to supply an
appropriate amount of manpower in order to unload goods safely.
CONCRETE BAR TOPS & WORKTOPS
Post Installation
Do not use or touch the table at least 48 hours after installation to allow
the glue to set. Concrete also takes a while to fully dry out and so it may
take as much as few weeks for the final colour to come through which will
be lighter than how it appears when first delivered. Product needs to be
treated with an extra care for first 14 days as sealer needs time to cure
completely. The important thing to prevent concrete products from
staining is not to leave any hot/acidic substances or liquids to dry on the
surface. We advise using coaster under glasses, cups and mugs. Do not
place hot pans or other hot items onto the surface as this will lead to
staining on the surface, always use a pan stand or coaster as appropriate.
Do not keep concrete products under cover, concrete needs to breathe to
get dry and cure properly. Covering the surface will disturb this process.
Do not leave any objects over 10kg on the table top and do not place any
objects over 20kg on the table top as this can cause micro-cracks or even
cracks.

Installing other appliances

When installing hobs/sinks/extractors into cut outs in the worktops, be careful not
to be too rough as this may lead to small hairline cracks around the outer edges of
the cut outs.
Do not screw tap and waste to tightly as it may cause tensions inside the concrete
and result in hairlines appearing on the surface.
Cleaning & Maintenance
The exposed concrete surface has been sealed to help maintain/protect the surface.
The main points to avoid are; Do not use the work surface as a chopping block, this
will lead to scratches, always use a chopping block. Cutting and chopping or any
other action should be done on a chopping board and not directly on the surface of
the product because it may damage it. Do not use boards or trivets made of rough
of scratchy materials as it may scratch the surface and damage the sealer coating.
Edges or corners of the product can be chipped if knocked by heavy items. Care
should be taken when using heavy pots and pans. Do not place hot pans or other
hot items onto the surface as this will lead to staining on the surface, always use a
pan stand or coaster as appropriate. Our surface sealants may be damaged or
discoloured by the heat from hot utensils. It is recommended to use dish rack or
drainer and not leaving wet dishes to dry on the worktop surface. We recommend
to clean surfaces carefully with soft equipment (such as sponge or towel) without
any sharp elements. Avoid spilling any strong acidic substance or using any harsh
chemical cleaning solutions on the surface. If you do accidentally spill such a
substance, immediately dry the surface and then wipe it several times with a damp
cloth (allowing it to dry every time). For cleaning we recommend products
dedicated for polished concrete. There is a huge variety of such products on the
market, however we recommend trying the product on a small non-visible area
first.
Outdoor use of our concrete products
Suitable for outdoor use. Concrete products can be used outdoors up to a maximum
temperature of 50 ° C – 125 degrees Fahrenheit.
We advise you to regularly check and clean your concrete products when in use
AND when not in use during the off season, even when covered up for a long
period of time, to ensure the best care of the product and to keep it looking fresh
and clean.
Covering concrete products
During the off season please cover your Concrete furniture piece(s) with a
protective cover 100 % polyester coated with water-repellent: a waterproof,
breathable, UV-resistant and place them in a dry location.
Do not
step on or sit on concrete products under no circumstances. Failure to do
so may result in cracks and hairlines on the concrete surface or even
permanent damage to the product. Do not place heavy objects on the top
of the concrete products as this can cause micro-cracks or even cracks.

The day of delivery

CONCRETE SINKS
Post Installation
Concrete needs time to become completely dry and it may take as much as few
weeks for the final colour to come through which will be lighter than how it appears
when first delivered. Product needs to be treated with an extra care for first 14 days
as sealer need time to cure completely. You need to make sure not to leave any
hot/acidic substances or liquids to dry on the surface to avoid staining.
Fitting
Wall has to be sturdy and properly prepared to hold the weight of concrete sink.
Any brackets designed for holding concrete sinks have to be secured to the wall
using proper fixings. Sink has to be secured to the brackets and the wall with
adhesive. Surface under the sink is not even and all gaps where sink does not touch
the brackets have to be filled with more adhesive or packers. Please make sure that
the adhesive for sink is distributed evenly on the whole brackets/wall surface to
provide a good substrate for the product. Do not screw tap and waste to tightly as
it may cause tensions inside the concrete and result in hairlines appearing on the
sink surface.
Do not leave liquids or common outdoor dirt to dry on the concrete. Do not
step on or sit on concrete products under no circumstances. Failure to do
so may result in cracks and hairlines on the concrete surface or even
permanent damage to the product. Do not place heavy objects on the top
of the concrete products as this can cause micro-cracks or even cracks.
Cleaning & Maintenance
The exposed concrete surface has been sealed to help maintain/protect it. Our
products should be cleaned with warm soapy water using a bleach and acid free
products. Sealant can be damaged by scratching with any sharp objects, which is
why CastConcrete recommend to clean surfaces carefully with soft equipment (such
as sponge or towel) without any sharp elements. Scrubbing with abrasive powders
or pads is not recommended as this may damage the surface and sealer coating.

Fire pit cover information
1. Before you fit your new cover, please check that no damage has
occurred in transit which could result in leakage.

This
breathable fabric helps release condensation trapped underneath the covers
however we do recommend airing
covers off every so often and cleaning the concrete fire pit table.
6. Although these covers are designed to help protect your furniture, we cannot
guarantee this against extreme weather conditions.
7. We recommend that you check your cover on a regular basis to make sure no damage has occurred in severe weather conditions.
